Searching for kitchen curtains styles can be very simple for those who know what they are looking for. There are four basic styles and sets to choose from. When choosing the style you need to know how much sunlight you want to come in and if privacy is an issue. Some of these styles can allow more or less light into the kitchen and some are more or less private.

The panel kitchen curtain is the most common type. It is one piece of fabric that is hung from a rod and drops all the way down to the bottom of the window. This kitchen curtain style is very simple but can come in many decorative patterns. You can have two panels if you like to draw them like swag to the sides to allow more sunlight in. During the daytime just tie them to the sides and untie at night.

The café curtain also known as the tier is hung from the middle of the window to the bottom. Only the top half of the kitchen window will be bare. This is for those who want to have continuous sunlight in with a bit of privacy. It gives your kitchen a little character and a clean cut appearance. Keep in mind that this particular style can not be moved or drawn.

Valance only kitchen curtains are not meant for privacy at all. The valance covers only a little bit of the top of an otherwise bare kitchen window. If your kitchen faces your yard and you’re not worried about passersby then the valance is a good option. Its purpose is just to add a bit of softness and coziness to your kitchen.

For a complete look you can dress up your kitchen window with a valance, tie back swag and a tier. With more dressing on your kitchen window your kitchen will be better insulated. With this curtain style you can draw back the valance or just have them hang down overlapping the tier.

If you are looking to make your own home-made kitchen curtain than the easiest style to imitate is the tab top curtain. Besides just the hemming all you’ll need to do is make the loops that the rod goes through. This is one of the kitchen curtains styles that you can simply slide back and forth for easy open and close.
